Sendetermin 14.06.2023 14:00 bis 15:00*german below*
In the new Radio Re:volt episode, we report from the Crossroads Festival Graz. Parts of the broadcast were created within a workshop at the Crossroad Festival. So there are some new voices to hear.
We talk to Lisa, one of the organizers, about the festival and speak about the documentary "7 Winters in Tehran" by Steffi Niederzoll, which premiered at the Berlinale 2023.
The film portrays the true story of Reyhaneh Jabbari from Iran, who stabbed her perpetrator in self-defense against an attempted rape. The then 19-year-old was sentenced to death for murder in 2007. The case is reconstructed in the film from partly secretly filmed recordings of the family, personal narratives, audio recordings and images. At the Berlinale, the film won the Compass Perspective Award as well as the Peace Film Award.
We would like to point out that the film deals with sexual, physical and psychological violence, as well as discrimination and execution. The content of the program could be disturbing for viewers.
We talk to the festival visitor patriarchal hierarchy and tainted by a lack of respect for womenNeli about the situation of women in Ecuador. We then listen to an interview with Shole Pakravan, Reyhaneh's mother, who is also one of the main narrators in the film. Finally, show creators Susmita, Lilli, Gea and Ipek talk about impressions and impressions from the film.
