Future Unknown: Syrians stuck on Lesbos
Inhalt
In this episode of VC Mytilene, we speak to various people from Syria about how they experience being stuck on Lesbos. Their asylum applications have been frozen due to the fall of the Assad regime back in December, when most EU member states decided to wait to see if Syria would become stable enough to reject their applications. So far, the violence in Syria has not stopped, but only increased.
I have taken interviews with several people from Syria who are currently in the above-mentioned situation. Their names have been obscured at their request. In addition, I spoke to Flo from Legal Center Lesbos to get some more bureaucratic information and updates about the situation.
