Debates about gender relation and social injustice have been rolling high across all societies, and this doesn't leave the new music scene untouched as well: think about the #metoo movement where musicians spoke out, and the GRINM (gender relations in new music) initiative that got kicked off several years ago at Darmstädter Ferienkurse. In our current edition of Radio Schallfeld for International Women's Day we pick up those topics, and alongside some background informations we feature the work and ideas of several composers that have contributed to give feminism in contemporary music a strong voice, and we feature some brand new recordings that we just did in January 2021.
