    - The Nigerian Army freed hundreds of women and girls who were captured by Boko Haram forces during an offensive deep in the Sambisa Forest in northeast Nigeria.     - Driscoll’s is a familiar brand of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries in American supermarkets year round. But in recent months Driscoll’s extensive network of fruit suppliers has run into labor resistance in northern Mexico and Washington State, with increased calls for a broad-based consumer boycott.     - Since the early 1980s, the endangered Condor has made a comeback along the California coast. Thanks to $60 million dollars in federal aid and the establishment of the Sespe Condor Sanctuary over 230 Condors now live in the world. But the Condor faces a new threat from the energy boom as a proposed fracking drilling operations move closer to the bird sanctuary. ("Fracked to extinction," In These Times, April 6, 2015)
