Sediment
Sediment starting point is rooted in comprehensive curatorial research on the Loading Archive in Diyarbakır. As one of the iterations of this curatorial research, this exhibition brings together some of the outstanding names from the archive: Rozelin Akgün, Leyla Keskin, Aylin Kızıl, and Rojda Tuğrul alongside two artists from Graz: Barbara Schmid, and Skopje: Hristina Ivanovska, addressing similar issues with notable positions. Therefore, the exhibition includes locations from the Hevsel Gardens in the Tigris River basin to the ancient city of Hasankeyf, reaching across the Vardar and Mur rivers.
As part of the Sediment exhibition, İpek Yüksek from Radio Helsinki in Graz is collaborating on an audio archive project that includes a podcast series. Sediment: The Echo of Coexistence delves into these themes and narratives, featuring contributions from researchers based in Graz. Each episode examines the ecological, social, and political dimensions shaping contemporary art discourse, along with collaborative artistic and curatorial approaches.
