#72: Iberian Indie Sounds - Summer Melodies from Galicia, Catalonia, and Andalusia (Wh.)

Welcome to the 72nd INDIERE edition hosted by Sonia Morales from Onda Local de Andalucía (EMA-RTV) in Spain. This Spanish summer edition takes you on a musical journey across the Iberian Peninsula: Galicia, Catalonia, and Andalusia, showcasing the fusion of electronics and folklore in a subgenre known as 'trad'.
In Galicia, Mundo Prestigio opens with the lively electro-pop track "Personas." Boyanka Kostova follows with urban sounds and witty lyrics in Galician and Spanish. Berto collaborates with various artists, including Jordana B. and Mondra, offering electropop and Latin rhythms. Fillas de Cassandra presents contemporary feminist perspectives on traditional melodies.
Moving to Catalonia, Perruzo's "No hay Futuro" reflects suburban nihilism, followed by Socunbohemio's dreamy sounds. Edu Requejo blends diverse music styles and folklore in his electropop tracks "Fuego Eterno" and "Mala Vida," featuring Cristalino.
Andalusia's Fran Ocete, aka Cristalino, mixes hyperpop and urban sounds, leading to Bronquio and 41V1L's electronic blends of trap and flamenco. Laespadayelclavel's DIY track "¿Por qué lloras?" features emerging artist Quince.
The journey concludes with Andalusian post-punk rock group La Jvnta, bidding farewell with "El Verano del Anarquista" from their album "Viernes de Bachata."

IndieRE 2.0 – Independent Radio Exchange – is an extension of the project of the same name between 2019 and 2022. The new project continues to promote local urban music at a wider European level and to strengthen the competences of cultural workers in the field of music. It aims to enhance the cross-border exchange of non-commercial and independent music and to promote various lesser-known genres of European music.
8 European community radios & networks will expand your musical horizon with a total of 88 broadcasts, presenting musical highlights of their respective independent scene & a unique song gets special attention with the “featured song” segment.
Listen up as our musical exchange around Europe will start in February & tune in and support your local subculture scene!
Until the new project-series starts we will listen back to some of the broadcasts of the former projects.
